Udderly Proud

We've worked with dairy farmers throughout Hawke's Bay to develop, upgrade and maintain innovative systems. See below to check out some of our past projects.

Parkhill - BEL Group
40-bail herringbone upgrade

This project held particular significance for our business owner, Sam, as it involved upgrading the 40-bail herringbone dairy shed that his grandfather and late father originally built 30 years ago. While the structure remained solid, the aging equipment needed a modern overhaul to keep up with the growing milk production at the established BEL Group property.

To enhance efficiency and optimise staff productivity, we replaced the milking plant and installed iCR+ cup removers, iNTELARM swingarms, and the iNTELWASH automatic wash system.

Utilising our sister company, Central Mobile Engineering, Parkhill now also features enhanced staff amenities including a fully refurbished smoko room, bathroom and milk room. Additionally, new breast rails have been installed to support the future integration of a new feed system, ensuring the shed is ready for the next phase of productivity improvements.

Sherwood Dairies
Milk Platform Upgrade

We carried out a comprehensive upgrade and maintenance project on the milking platform, with a focus on improving efficiency, durability, and hygiene. The key improvements include;

  • Cows standing on rubbers and clusters: By relocating all stainless steel milk tubes underneath the platform, the risk of cows stepping on rubbers and clusters has been eliminated, reducing damage and increasing longevity of equipment.

  • ACRs not pulling off properly and straight: The installation of new rope guides on the ACRs has corrected the pulling direction, ensuring smooth and consistent cup removal and reducing unnecessary strain or misalignment.

  • Stainless droppers pulling out and getting damaged: Custom-welded brace brackets now hold the stainless tubes firmly under the deck, preventing them from being dislodged or damaged during milking operations.

  • Clusters not cleaning efficiently and effectively: The new jetter wash system, including variflo jetters with rubber boots and protective flip-lid covers, ensures each cluster is thoroughly and hygienically cleaned after each milking session. This protects milk quality and reduces the risk of contamination.

These targeted improvements directly address the core operational challenges and will support smoother, more reliable milking sessions moving forward.
