Central Milking Services originated from a need to expand our service offerings beyond agricultural engineering. With an established customer base through Central Mobile Engineering and Pirtek CHB, we listened to our customers and acknowledged the demand for more specialised Hawkes Bay dairy solutions.
Today, we pride ourselves on delivering reputable services that go far beyond the traditional engineering scope.

Meet Tom - General Manager
Having previously worked for Centralines as a Lines Foreman, Tom brings a vast range of expertise to the CMS team.
Tom knows the Hawke’s Bay region like the back of his hand, having moved to Ashley Clinton over 13 years ago. Tom is quickly growing alongside the business and building solid relationships among the local dairy community.
Outside of work, he’s a keen hunter with a love for the Ruahine Ranges and the great outdoors.

Meet Sam - Business Owner
Sam Barry founded CM Engineering in 2017, starting as a self-employed mobile engineer based out of a humble pole barn shed. With determination and a clear vision, he took on his first staff member just eight months later. Over the following years, the business continued to grow, leading to the establishment of Pirtek CHB in 2020 and CM Services in 2024. Under Sam’s leadership, Pirtek CHB achieved the prestigious Franchise of the Year award in 2023, reflecting his dedication and drive.
Recently married to his wife, Katie Barry, Sam is embracing this exciting new chapter of life. Outside of work, he is a passionate adventurer with a love for hunting, tennis, motorbikes, racecars, and anything adrenaline-fueled. Whether on the track, in the outdoors, or within his businesses, Sam brings energy, precision, and passion to everything he does.
